In 1999, Kent graduated from the University of Calgary with his Bachelor of Arts majoring in Geography. In 2002, he received the Masters of City Planning degree from the University of Manitoba. Kent joined Scheffer Andrew Ltd. in 2002.

Kent is the South Planning Manager, and is located in the Medicine Hat office. Kent is responsible for Scheffer Andrew Ltd. planning services in southern Alberta. Kent is also actively involved in business development in southern Alberta.

Kent has experience in the preparation of subdivision, development concepts, re-zoning (re-districting), area structure plans, and plan amendments. In addition, he oversees their progression through the municipal review and approval process.
